La Descarga
I’m in this really cool cocktail club called LUPEC or Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails. LUPEC originally started in Pittsburgh and there are several chapters around the country. Some are namely drinking societies but most have a charitable slant. The LUPEC chapter in New York started Speed Rack, a bartending competition with proceeds supporting breast cancer research and a search for a cure. The local LA chapter has had meetings and events where we donate to Speed Rack to save the boobies.
Starting tonight, the LUPEC LAdies will be guest bartending at La Descarga. Every Tuesday from tonight to October 1, expect to see the fabulous LUPEC ladies shaking things up with proceeds going to the Downtown Women’s Center. Hosted by LUPEC LA president Hollis Bulleit (Bulleit Bourbon) and Kat Witt, a LUPEC board member. LUPEC will be keeping to the Tiki Tuesdays theme with a twist. What better way to kick it off than with the Lil’ Twisted duo Jaymee Mandeville and Cari Hah.

- September 17 – Amanda Gunderson featuring Congenial Spirits’ Cedar Ridge whiskey and Tapatio Tequila
- September 24 – Karen Grill & Kiowa Bryan, featuring Atlantico Rum and House Spirits
- October 1 – The Ladies from Cole’s (Brent Falco, Cari Hah & Zahra Bates), featuring Bulleit Bourbon and Montanya Rum
